Advent premiere week 49-50
A rather unpleasant Santa, vulnerable teenagers on a party trip to Mallorca, and conflict in 19th-century Manchester are some of the elements in this week's newly released films on Viddla.
This particular Santa cares very little about whether you've been good; he's actually a bit of a troublemaker himself. Check out the comedy Bad Santa 2 starring Billy Bob Thornton as Santa Claus.
In The Boy, we meet Greta, a young American woman who takes a job as a nanny. She is shocked when she realizes that the English family's boy is actually a full-sized doll. After breaking a list of strict rules, a series of unsettling events leads her to believe that the doll is truly alive.
They travel abroad to party and have carefree sex. But things aren't always so simple during the teenage years. How to Have Sex addresses important themes and is an award-winning drama.
Blackbird Blackbird Blackberry tells the story of 48-year-old Etero who lives in a small village in Georgia. She does not want to get married and values her freedom as much as her pastries. But things can change quickly! The film has won several awards and is at times a comedic drama about a woman longing for something more.
Miracle on the Mountain is a German adventure/drama about a young girl who has difficulty accepting a diagnosis. When she finds a friend, she begins a journey to the top of the mountain where she hopes there is a cure. The film is suitable for all audiences.
In the aftermath of Napoleon's defeat at Waterloo in 1815, the need for reforms arose in English society. The film Peterloo depicts the massacre in Manchester in 1819, where a democratic protest was crushed by the military.
Have a good movie week!
