A documentary about the media-shy and elusive star Greta Garbo, British youth romance, and sound design are some of the themes in this week's newly released films on Viddla.

She received a lot of attention after the film 9 1/2 Weeks, actress Kim Basinger. Her co-star Mickey Rourke also garnered attention. The erotic undertone and interaction between the two lead actors probably doesn't shock many these days, but for many GenX-ers, the film will be a nostalgic revisit. 

Most of us live with sound and some or a lot of sound pollution in our everyday lives. But how often do we listen? The documentary 32 Sounds is both an original and fascinating experience, a meditative reflection on sound's power to turn time, cross boundaries and in a deep way shape our interpretation of the world that surrounds us. 

In the drama Seven Veils, a young theater director gets the chance to stage the play Salome at the opera. In the process, the director (played by Amanda Seyfried) must confront her dark and traumatic past, which gradually colors the production.

In the documentary Where did you go, Greta Garbo? we get closer to the star through archival footage and creative dramatizations by Noomi Rapace, and get a glimpse behind the facade of the film icon.

American Meltdown is an award-winning American coming-of-age film that tells the story of a young woman struggling with her life in every way. She meets a pickpocket who convinces her that to survive in the USA, one must resort to crime. This marks the beginning of a strange friendship and a criminal career.
